Dr. Rajesh Rajani is presently a Consultant – Cardiologist at P.D. Hinduja Hospital and Medical Research Centre.  He joined the hospital in the year 1996 as a Consultant Cardiologist after his return from Melbourne Australia.  He was promoted as the Head of the Department of Cardiology from 15th September 2002.  He is also an Asst. Professor in Cardiology at the J.J. Group of Hospitals, Grant Medical College, Mumbai.  He is also joined as Consultant Cardiologist to Breach Candy Hospital and Hinduja Healthcare Surgical and he heads the cardiology department.

He graduated from J.J. Group of Hospitals and the K.E.M. Hospital doing his MD. and DM. in Cardiology respectively.

He underwent extensive training in Melbourne, Australia at the St. Vincent’s Group of Hospitals.  During his tenure in Australia, he performed more than 8,000 coronary angiograms and more than 2000 coronary angioplasties.  He published quite a lot of papers in Australia and after his stay, for over 5 ½ years he returned to join the P.D.Hinduja Hospital as a Consultant Cardiologist.  His basic specialties are complex stenting procedures and have pioneered radial procedures and developed the first radial lounge in the city of Bombay.

At the P.D.Hinduja Hospital, he performs approximately 500 – 600 procedures per year, including coronary angiographies, coronary angioplasties with stenting, balloon mitral valvuloplasties, and permanent pacemaker implantation.  He has already completed more than 16000+ Trans Radial Interventions.
