Coronary Angioplasty done through the wrist is Radial Angioplasty.

How Radial procedure is better than Femoral procedure?

Wrist (Radial) procedure will have an advantage of early mobilization as compared to groin (femoral) procedure.

Do I need to get admitted to Radial Angiography?

Both Radial Angiography and femoral angiography are daycare procedures, Radial patients can be discharged after 2 hours and the femoral patient can be discharged after 6 hours.

Do I require fasting for Radial Angiography?

For both radial and femoral angiography or angioplasty, 4-6 hours fasting is ideally required.

Can I run after angioplasty?

One can do most of the things after angioplasty to maintain a good quality of life.

Do I take medicine life long after angioplasty?

Yes, A blood thinning medicine and an anti-cholesterol medicine is a lifelong accompaniment after Angioplasty.

What is DAPT medicine? What is it stands for?

Dual antiplatelet therapy (also called DAPT) is a treatment to help stop harmful blood clots from forming.

Is there any risk if I forgot my DAPT medicine for a day?

No risk, usually if one forgets DAPT for 1 day.

What is MI or heart attack?

MI (Myocardial Infarction) is total stoppage of blood flow to the heart muscle due to blockage of coronary artery (artery supplying blood to heart).

Do I need to visit Dr for normal chest pain?

Yes, one must visit a doctor for any short of chest discomfort (especially if one is more than 40 years of age and / or diabetic.)

Sometimes I feel chest pain during walking? What is it?

When one walks and has to stop due to chest discomfort, it usually means the heart is receiving less blood.

Is it true? I might get pain due to gas? Or GI trouble?

One must never ignore any form of chest discomfort. Most of the time gaseous feelings are due to the heart itself.

How do I differentiate chest pain due to gas or hear attack?

Very difficult to distinguish, one must immediately take an ECG and consult a doctor.

I am a smoker; can I get heart attack?

Smokers have a hundred-fold chance of getting a heart attack, then a non-smoker.

I work in stress; do I have a risk of heart attack?

Stress has a 50-fold increase in getting a heart attack as compared to non-stressed individual.

I take 4 hours sleep daily, is it sufficient for my health (heart)?

4 to 6 hours of sleep is just ok for the entire body.

What should I do when I get heart attack?

Once, a heart attack is diagnosed, one should immediately (as early as possible) rush to the hospital and take the direction of the cardiologist.

Is there any emergency medicine? should I take during heart attack? Which can avoid sudden death?

If a heart attack is diagnosed, immediately one should rush to the hospital and go as per the protocols of the cardiologist.

Which exercise is good for my heart?

Brisk walks (cardio exercise) are good for the heart.

What is Rotablession procedure?

Rotablator is a device used for very calcific arteries, to remove calcium and create an easy passage of Stents and balloons

Usually depends on the indication, the pacemaker implanted for, it varies from 6- 10 years

Can I fly after pacemaker implantation?

Yes, one can fly.

Can I walk fast or run after pacemaker implantation?

Yes, one can do all activities with ease.

Do I take any medicine lifelong after pacemaker implantation unlike Stent implantation?

No Medicine is required for the pacemaker implanted.

What is the basic precaution should I take after pacemaker implantation?

No specific precaution is to be taken after pacemaker implantation.

How regularly I should meet a doctor after pacemaker implantation?

Every 6 months.
